Those Days at Taiwan | Vol. 3 | CORN on TOES

WARNING!!!
IF YOU ARE DISGUSTED WITH ANY CORN

PLEASE SKIP THIS POST
THANK YOU

Yes, Volume 3! I would like to tell a journey of my "sickness" in Taiwan.
I felt that my antibody has drop many times compare when I stayed at Indonesia or Malaysia.
I spent tons of TWD on my feet and my body condition. I thought maybe it was caused by the weather and the temperature of Taipei kept changing. For an example, morning was hot gradually on the afternoon windy and cold.

The very first problem was I brought not really plain flat shoes for work. What I brought was a flat shoes with a thin gold metal plate on the front and the material was suede. I heard that the flat shoes should be plain without anything on top. So, I decided to cut of the metal plate by myself. The flat shoes looked so ugly, but I still wore it for the first day. During the shift, I need to go back and forth to the stewarding station which was very slippery and the water on the floor was not drained properly. Which cause my flat shoes very wet. Then I decided to buy new flat shoes with my other friends at Xi Men Ding.

This kind of shoe store at Xi Men Ding (cr. google)
So, I have bought the biggest size of the flatshoes that they have which size 39. The flat shoes cost NTD 390 (Rp 176.000). During that time, I tried, it do fit it to my feet. Since that was the biggest size, I have no choice to bought it. Usually at Indonesia and Malaysia most of the shoes size follow the Europe measurement. My foot size was size 39-40.

As you can see from the chart above, if I bought taiwan shoe size I should have bought size 40- 41. I thought that it will be okay. A week past, I felt uncomfortable on my toes. I will show you how uncomfortable I am.

That was how my feet look like, it was damn pain. I do not know how to cure it. So, I decided to change new flat shoes and it cost me NTD 1692 (Rp 765.000). It was really comfortable, my friend Gina recommend me to look flat shoes there because one of the airline in Taiwan their stewardess are compulsory to wear that. 美而堅健康鞋 (M&G Taiwan shoes).

I want to cure the "bruises" I had in my leg so I search google and stuff. I did went to skin doctor. I wasted NTD 600 (Rp 271.000) for cream and a little bit treatment. I went to chinese doctor to cure my poor feet and I wasted another NTD 790 (Rp 357.000).

from Skin clinic

this is from Chinese clinic

All of that was useless, it does not getting better. I googled up how to cure it, it called "corns" I went to drugstores to buy corn pads and corn solution. Yes! Finally corn pads do minimize the pain when I wear the flat shoes. It doesn't rub against the corn with the shoes. The solution was crayyyy!

I use this shape of the corn pads but not this brand, I use Japanese brand, since I bought at Japanese drugstore
I bought corn plaster too (not this brand too) both corn pads NTD 185
THIS IS THE SAVIOR! NTD 455 (available at Watsons)
This to scrap of the hardening skin on top of the toes with solution.

I use the scholl tool to scarp the white skin off.

I also would like to share my experience to go to the emergency unit at Mackay Memorial Hospital Taipei. It was after working around 10 PM (GMT+8), before ended working I felt to tired and I try to bear it, my hand was super cold even the colour has changed, like below..

Luckily on that day Fergie is working too, she accompanied me to the hospital after work. We walked to the hospital around 8-10 mins from Regent Hotel. I registered myself and do sort of test like urine test and I do scan my chest. Then we wait the result for 2-3 hours.

Thank you babe <3

the amount of the medicine

Lesson learned, please don't fall a sick at Taiwan, the bills are so expensive because we don't have the medical card. That was really bad experience, but yea luckily I did not have influenza that time.
That's all for the post in this volume, I hope you learn something! HAHAHA.
Thank you <3

What is Corn?
Corns generally occur at pressure points, typically the bottom of the feet and the sides of toes. They can be painful. A hard corn is a small patch of thickened, dead skin with a central core. A soft corn has a much thinner surface and usually occurs between the 4th and 5th toes. (cr. webmd.com)

Those Days at Taiwan | Vol. 1

Hello readers, first post on 2019. Yea, there is time I wanna update my blog but my hand stop me (too many reasons). Today, I would like to talk about my internship trip at Taipei, Taiwan. Well, this internship is compulsory for my last semester at Taylor's University. I have decided to do my internship at Regent Taipei (part of InterContinental Hotels Group). So, me with my 4 other friends, we flew to Taiwan on 29 August 2018. Damn time flies, it has been a year ago. I flew with Kora my Malaysian friend from Changi Airport.

My family send me off to the airport. Thank you for accompanying me although it was 03:00-04:00 AM. Love you guys!

We arrived at Taoyuan International Airport earlier than 3 others friends, Fergie, Diny, and Jerry (they are the Palembangers (from Palembang City). Me and Kora waited them to arrive then we took a mini van taxi to drove us to Taipei City. The 4 girls lived together at an airbnb that we have booked for 6 months. Our place only need 3 min walking distance to the Regent Taipei hotel. Jerry has his own place nearer to Ning Xia Night Market.

All of us working at the same hotel and the 4 girls working at Brasserie Restaurant (all-day dining buffet restaurant) which is hectic af. Jerry is working at Room Service department, which is alot relax than us.

It was really a good and bad luck working at Taiwan. HAHAHA. I believe that all of my friends find the same too. There are pros and cons. Well I will not mention the pros and cons here, since this post will about people in Brasserie Restaurant. It is just for memories.
